Dear friends and comrades,
The journey of the 47th KNE–Odigitis Festival culminates here today, exactly the way it deserves: With a huge political gathering that spreads from one end of the park to the other, followed by concerts and tributes.
We are very pleased that through these stupendous events we have helped tens of thousands of young people who visited the Festival for the first time to breathe again and take courage.
We are not afraid and we will never forget! We struggle against fascism and the system that gives rise to it!

Thousands of young people, school students, university students, and workers participated in the rallies and concerts organized by university students’ associations, students’ councils and trade unions in Athens, Thessaloniki, and many other cities. One year after the conviction of the criminal organization Golden Dawn and a few days after the murderous attacks in Thessaloniki and elsewhere, thousands of young people and workers across the country sent a strong message: The struggle against fascism is continuing and will continue as long as there is the decayed system that gives rise to it!

Dear friends,
We are all here! We are all present! The KKE and KNE are here! We are here, determined to “make the sun turn round”. To turn into action “the dream of all those ravenous and aggrieved”. For “all the people’s bread, light, and singing”! (Note: The above phrases in italics are references to poems written by Odysseas Elytis and Yiannis Ritsos, which were set to music by the recently deceased composer Mikis Theodorakis).
