The conflict between the USA – China with the coronavirus as a spearhead is just one in the recent episodes of competition playing out between them which is escalating on the economic, military, and political level, provoking “seismic shocks” throughout the entire imperialist pyramid.
The coronavirus pandemic did not only act as a catalyst for the capitalist crisis, signs of which already existed before the crisis, but also for imperialist competitions.
China, exploiting the pandemic, tried to extend its influence to the traditional allies, the USA and NATO, offering healthcare assistance, a fact that provoked intense reactions on the part of the USA, NATO, and also the EU.
The position of the KKE on the "East Med" Pipeline

The ruling right-wing party New Democracy, together with the "left" party SYRIZA, the Social Democratic Party KINAL/PASOK and the far-right party Hellenic Solution, aligning with the dirty plans of the USA - NATO - EU - Israel and having their eye on the "upgrade" of the bourgeoisie of Greece, voted on 15/05/20 in the Plenary Session of the Parliament the agreement for the gas pipeline "East Med" with concise procedures.
The agreement was submitted in the form of a bill by the Ministry of Environment and Energy entitled "Ratification of the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Republic of Cyprus, the State of Israel, the Hellenic Republic and the Italian Republic on a Pipeline System for the transport of natural gas from the Eastern Mediterranean to the European markets".

The outbreak of the pandemic, its rapid spread, its profound consequences for human life and especially in the more developed capitalist economies, have brought great problems to the surface, which of course pre-existed, but emerged today in a loud and tragic way. The big contradictions and contrasts are even more evident in all aspects of social, economic, political, cultural life and reality, in each country individually and internationally. We must definitely make a greater collective effort and contribution not only to record and codify the new issues, but also further highlight them as well as the main trends of the developments, to draw the necessary conclusions and tasks, both in theoretical and in political, practical level. After all, many issues and aspects are still in progress.

Exactly 150 years ago, on April 22, 1870, the greatest revolutionary of the world communist movement in the 20th century, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (alias Lenin) was born in the city of Simbirsk situated on the Volga River.

Young people of the world,
While thousands of people around the globe are getting the disease and unfortunately also die of COVID-19, the reality for the peoples, workers and youth is ruthless:
- The public health system even of some powerful capitalist countries is naked, full of deficiencies, with policies that act in favour of the commercialisation of health, and the capitalist profits. The lives of hundreds of thousands of people are at risk. Urgent and necessary measures are not taken must be taken now.
- Millions of workers have already lost their jobs or will lose them in the next period. Their salaries are being cut and their working hours are getting flexed. Not because of COVID-19, but because capitalists put once again the burden on their shoulders.
- Even the scientific attempts to find a vaccine for COVID-19 are subject to competitions between the imperialists, who are relentless. The anarchy in capitalist production doesn’t satisfy primary human needs.
