We are in the midst of the pandemic of the novel coronavirus threatening our people and the peoples of the entire world. Our Party faces this unprecedented adventure for the people with a high sense of responsibility. From the very first moment, we postponed all the events, adapted the operation and action of the Party Organizations in the framework of the measures to prevent and protect public health. At the same time, we demanded that all necessary measures be immediately taken to protect the health of the people and the rights of the workers.
The content of our Party's intervention in these difficult conditions is aptly illustrated by the slogan: "We stay strong, we do not stay silent."

In their Joint Statement, 84 Communists and Workers' Parties from all over the world take a position on the global situation created by the pandemic of the novel coronavirus. In the Joint Statement, initiated by the KKE, the CPs express their support to both doctors and nurses as well as those suffering from the disease and denounce the huge shortages in the public health sector which result from the anti-popular policy followed by the governments in the service of the capital, commercializing and privatizing health to support the profitability of the monopoly groups. They emphasize that this particular situation shows the anti-social nature of capitalism as well as the necessity and advantages of the socialist society. The Communist and Workers parties demand that all necessary measures be taken immediately to address the epidemic, with the support and strengthening of the Public Health Systems.

The KKE denounces to the Greek people that the US plan for the Palestinian issue, which is falsely described as the "deal of the century", not only does not guarantee an independent Palestinian state but perpetuates and shields Israeli occupation.
The plan provides:
- The ceding of Jerusalem to the State of Israel as an "undivided Israeli capital".
- The annexation of the Jordan Valley, which is the heart of the 30% of the West Bank, and areas north of the Dead Sea by the Israeli state.
- The maintenance of Israeli settlements and thousands of settlers who are occupying forces in the Palestinian territories.

The latest developments, with the entrapment of thousands of refugees and immigrants on the Aegean islands and at the Greek-Turkish border in Evros, confirm once again that the EU and NATO policy that the Greek governments have followed and are fervently adhering to now is, on the one hand, responsible for the dissolution of countries and the uprooting of peoples and on the other, for the entrapment of uprooted peoples on islands and at borders. This policy has paved the way for Erdogan to try to impose his own objectives, using the refugee situation as a vehicle.
