Comment of the Press Office of the CC of KNE on the occasion of the repression of the school student mobilizations in France

The images from the French city Mantes-la-Jolie that show arrested school students, even 12-year-olds, after a mobilization, being on their knees or facing the wall and with their hands on their heads, surrounded by fully armed policemen as if they are prisoners in a concentration camp, cause rage and repulsion.
These images are a reflection of the EU, which is allegedly “returning to the democratic values”, but it is getting worse and worse. They reflect the true face of the bourgeois democracy, in which the freedom of all the people stops where the freedom of the exploiters begins.
These images are doubly outrageous if we recall that in September 2017, the French president Macron, whose orders are the ones executed by the French police, made a speech along with Alexis Tsipras about democracy with the Pnyx in the background. Meanwhile SYRIZA is still advertising him as the countervailing force in Europe against neoliberalism and the far-right.
The rotten exploitative system and its interstate unions reassure freedom and democracy only for the few, while for the workers and the youth they reserve only poverty, unemployment and repression.

The Press Office of the CC of KNE on October 24th published an announcement concerning the statements of the Education Minister of the SYRIZA- ANEL government K. Gavroglou about the mobilizations organized by students and school students.
Once again, the Education Minister questioned those who mobilized. Speaking to a Greek radio station, he characteristically stated: “What concerns us is where do these children draw their legality from, because these are not the decisions of General Assemblies, nor of the mass movement, or anything else”. And added that there are parties “which close their eyes to these situations” and that ““Rizospastis” for example, before schools began, announced that a front of school students was formed that will demand a, b, c”.
In this framework, the Press Office of the CC of KNE released an announcement- response, highlighting that “legality” is the right of the youth to demand its contemporary rights.

STATEMENT OF THE PRESS OFFICE OF THE CC OF KNE FOR THE RECOGNITION OF JERUSALEM AS THE “CAPITAL” OF ISRAEL
- Details
- 17 May 2018
The decision of the government of Trump to inaugurate its new embassy in Jerusalem, a move that essentially recognizes Jerusalem as the “capital” of Israel, is something that foreshadows new negative developments at the expense of the Palestinian people as well as the other peoples of the region.
It seems that in the attempt of the murderers of the peoples to lure the youth in order to support the dangerous plans, is involved even... the “sinful” Eurovision song contest. How else can it be explained that the Israeli winner of the contest basically mentioned Jerusalem as the “capital” of Israel? While at the same time, even the president of Israel, B. Netanyahu, immediately repeated the “line” of the winner, a “line” that insults the Palestinian people!!!
We call upon the youth of our country to continue the support towards the just struggle of the Palestinian people and youth, that while they are asserting their own homeland they face the state-oriented violence, the murders and the imprisonments on behalf of the state-killer of Israel. We call upon the youth to strengthen the struggle against the dangerous policy of the SYRIZA-ANEL government, that reinforces the political and military cooperation with the state of Israel, and to demand the immediate recognition of the Palestinian state on the basis of the resolution of the Greek Parliament of December of 2015. Overall, we call for the strengthening of the people’s and youth's struggle against the imperialist wars and the plans of US-NATO-EU in our region
