The KKE and the anti-imperialist movement are intensifying the struggle against NATO

The NATO forces retreated in the evening of Friday 2/6 from the tolls on a national highway in Northern Greece (Macedonia), which had been blocked by the forces of the KKE and KNE.

Earlier, dozens of KKE demonstrators had set up a roadblock on the Egnatia highway, impeding the transit of Albanian military vehicles, which were heading through Greece to Romania, where from the 6th to the 14th of June the NATO "Noble Jump 2017" exercise will be held. The demonstrators, shouting anti-NATO and anti-imperialist slogans, allowed other vehicles to pass, only impeding the transit of NATO vehicles, which withdrew after several hours of waiting.

Sotiris Zarianopoulos, MEP of the KKE, was at the side of the demonstrators.

School Students’ Festivals of KNE

The School Students’ Festivals of KNE take place once again with 88 scheduled events and acts all over the country (see map), from the beginning of April until the first days of May. This year the School Students’ Festivals are aiming as for all the students to discuss massively about unfairness and the system that generates it. The Festivals include concerts, theatrical performances and sports tournaments by students as well as discussions on the students’ concerns  and the school that we need today and are visited by lots of students  in every neighborhood and place they are organized.

Among others, the appeal of KNE for the School Students’ Festival calls the youngsters to “come to the big festival of the students who have concerns,  who dream, who sing, who do not accept unfairness, who, from the beginning of this year they organized their struggle for the school, the life, the future we deserve. […]  The dreams, the needs and the happiness of the children all over the world do not fit inside the unfair system of today, which generates poverty, unemployment, wars, refugees, fascism […] We don’t have nothing to divide between us, nor with our refugee and immigrants classmates. The rotten ideals of this system do not fit us! We fight for the new society, […] the socialist society that’s built on new foundations”.

Student events organized by KNE

The Communist Youth of Greece's (KNE) Student Festival began on Thursday (16/3), which is being organized in many cities across Greece with a slogan borrowed from the poet of the Revolution, Vladimir Mayakovsky, "The future will not come on its own…If we do not also take measures."

In Athens, the Festival was held in the central student accommodation of the university of Athens, where there was a prominent banner adorned with Gagarin and Einstein which wrote: "We struggle for science. We acquire knowledge, because science means truth, because truth for social progress means the struggle for socialism-communism."
