On Wednesday, 22 October, a delegation from the Central Committee of KNE, led by its Secretary, Thodoris Kotsandis, delivered school supplies for the children of Palestine collected during the 51st Festival of KNE–“Odigitis” to the Palestinian Embassy.
A large quantity of school supplies —including pencils, pens, notebooks, school bags, pencil cases and various types of paints— was collected at a special collection point during the 51st Festival, which turned into a demonstration of solidarity with Palestine. The supplies were packed into boxes and large bags, accompanied by heartfelt messages for Palestine from children and adults, written on cards bearing a printed photo of the KKE banners displayed at the Acropolis.
Thodoris Kotsandis handed over the school supplies to Yussef Dorkhom, the Palestinian Ambassador to Greece, for transport to the children in the West Bank, who continue to struggle against violence by the occupiers, expressing the hope that they will also reach the Gaza Strip. The Ambassador noted that some of the supplies would also be distributed to the 28 children from Gaza who have been transferred to Greece and are currently receiving medical care or attending school here.
“We know that you are always on the right side of history and that you support justice and the right of the peoples to live freely in their own countries”, said the Palestinian Ambassador, among other things, as he received the school supplies. He also expressed his appreciation for all that the KKE and KNE are doing for Palestine and its children, both now, during the war in Gaza, and throughout the years.
