Under the slogan “Exceptions to the rules make the difference and write history! Come write it with us”, the  School Student Festivals of KNE are taking place across the country. Over the coming weeks and until the end of June, the school student celebrations, prepared with enthusiasm by members and friends of KNE, are sending the message: “Our present and future cannot be this world of wars, injustice, and decay. We are turning our anguish over a world that leaves no room for our dreams into a search and action for how these dreams can become reality”, as KNE notes in its call.

In detail, KNE’s call states:

The KNE School Student Festivals are here!

This unique institution, created by school students for school students, is beginning its journey all over Greece! Through our songs, discussions, and creations, we will send the strongest message: Our present and future cannot be this world of wars, injustice, and decay. We are turning our anguish over a world that leaves no room for our dreams into a search and action for how these dreams can become reality.

We break the rule of exploitation and injustice

Everything we experience, everything that fills us with anger, questions, and insecurity, is not a deviation in an otherwise beautiful and just world. It is the rule of the inhuman system of exploitation, capitalism, which operates for the profits and interests of the few.

It is the “madness” for their profits, served by the state, the governments, the European Union, and NATO, that:

• Entangles our country in the horror of war, from the Middle East to Ukraine.
• Prepares an uncertain future for us, far removed from the possibilities of our time.
• Constantly creates new “Tempi” and “Violantes”.
• Traps us in a boring, extremely expensive, and stressful school-examination centre, which they now want to make even worse, with the triple nationwide exams and the abolition of Article 16.
• Steals our lives and “serves” us the rotten standards and values of competition, individualism, and “trampling over others without caring about what is happening around me”.

This world has stench, scandals, and clientelism in its DNA. It is rotten and old, caught up in its contradictions and problems, full of violence and injustice. It cultivates fascist and racist views, anti-scientific and obscurantist theories.

There is no room for us in it, because we want to live as we deserve, not to wait before we can dream: first because of the pandemic, then because of the war, then because of high prices and a possible new economic crisis. This world, which in war and in peace attacks us and our dreams, will not change if we remain spectators.

It takes love and work, knowledge and struggle
Become the exception that erases the rule!

The exception that will break the rule is for the many of us to unite, the thousands who have the same needs and dreams. We are the ones who have the power, because nothing in the world moves without the working people and their children. We must challenge the rule of the system of exploitation and seek the way out beyond its limits. We must create our own plan and turn everything upside down. Whenever we chose this path and turned our anger into militant and organized struggle, we won, even if only small breaths of relief. We found ourselves on the right side of History and wrote history. We confirmed that the peoples have the power.

We continue even more dynamically!

With KNE and the KKE, in the struggle to overthrow this system, we become revolutionaries and erase their rules! We live and act in a revolutionary way, we challenge the “powerful”, because this is the only way societies move forward. We learn and spread the truth about reality and about how we can change it. We organize and participate in struggles for everything, big and small, seeking to have thousands of schoolmates by our side. Our ideals and values are collectivity and solidarity, against the decay that surrounds us. This is the only way fear and defeatism are broken. This is the only way “nothing changes” becomes militant will, stance, and action that opens the road to the new, the progressive, the just, and the innovative. After all, this is how the world has always changed.

We are fighting to abolish once and for all the cursed formula — every man for himself and God for all. We are fighting for the rule “all for one and one for all” to become custom.

Strengthen the struggle for a life worthy of the possibilities that humanity, science, and technology have provided. Let us build the socialist-communist society, which will get rid once and for all of the profits of the few, where the wealth produced by the work of the many will belong to them and serve their needs. Where school students will receive comprehensive and equal education in a modern school. Where the peoples will live fraternally, without the fear of imperialist war.
