Immediate reaction of the KKE and KNE to the military intervention of the US imperialists in Venezuela

On Saturday 3 January 2026, the organizations of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and KNE held a mass demonstration in the centre of Athens, culminating in a rally outside the US embassy. Thousands of people took part in the demonstration, which marked the first immediate response of the communists in Greece to the criminal actions of the USA in Venezuela.“Solidarity with the people of Venezuela! Bombs, blood, and the slaughter of peoples – this is what the USA calls peace” read the banner of the KKE and KNE. During the demonstration the statement issued by the Central Committee of the KKE on 3 January was read aloud.

Similar demonstrations were also held in Thessaloniki, where the KKE rally ended outside the US consulate, as well as in Patras and Heraklion. On Sunday 4 and Monday 5 January 2026, the organizations of the ΚΚΕ and ΚΝΕ continued their mobilisations across the country, expressing massive and militant support for the people of Venezuela against the military attack launched by the United States.
