Mass anti-fascist rally in Thessaloniki

On Saturday, 5 February, thousands of workers and young people together with dozens of trade unions, student associations, student councils, and other mass organizations of Thessaloniki participated in the anti-fascist rally organized by the Federation of Parents of Central Macedonia.

The mass rally was a decisive response to the action of fascist groups, which, in the past period, tried to intimidate the militant students in the area and carried out violent attacks against members of KNE. The same fascist groups linked to sports supporters’ groups belonging to the big capitalists of the region, a few days ago reached the point of murdering an innocent 19-year-old man.

The thousands of people who attended the rally sent a strong message condemning fascism, declaring that they would not tolerate the actions of fascist groups in schools and neighbourhoods, and called on the people to isolate fascists in all places.
