On Friday 7 February, thousands of university and school students flooded the streets of Athens, Thessaloniki and every corner of Greece, shouting that "the crime in Tempe will not be covered up, it's either with their profits or with our lives!".
After actions in schools and universities, in the aftermath of their mass participation in the rallies on 26 January, by opposing silence from the very first moment with their multiform struggle, students and pupils continue on the road of a militant response to the policies of profit that generate and cover up crimes. "For two years now, through organised struggle, we have managed to ensure that the crime is not covered up. To confront the injustice and cover-up served by the state, governments, companies and their institutions. Because it is only fair that all the evidence be brought to light, that the cover-up be ended and that all political and criminal responsibilities be attributed.
Because it is only fair that there should be no new Tempe, that immediate measures should be taken to deal with the situation on the railways, public transport, hospitals, schools and universities, where the policy of ''let it go" continues," reads the petition of the Athens Student Associations calling for the rally.
"We continue! As long as you deprive us of oxygen - our struggle will give breath to our lives. As long as you lie - we will fight for truth and justice. The crime in Tempe will not be covered up. It's either with their profits - or with our lives", notes the Athens School Students' Coordination Committee in its call.
