Statement of the International Relations Committee of the CC of KNE:Solidarity with the members of the Communist Party of Turkey and the militant students! Terrorism out of the Universities!

The Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) denounces the attacks of fascist groups against member-students of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and other militant students in universities in Turkey.

On the 21^st of November, there was an attempted attack against members of the TKP in the Ankara University Faculty of Political Science, while on the 22^nd of November, a group of "Grey Wolves" members attacked member-students of the TKP. In fact, there is a private security service in this University, which not only did nothing to protect the students but also turned a blind eye, together with the rector of the faculty and the Ankara police. Once again, these facts reveal the real role of such repressive forces in the universities, whose aim is not to protect the students. On the contrary, fascist groups – the henchmen of the system – are operating with their support, targeting communists and all those who fight in the universities.

It’s no coincidence that these attacks are taking place at a time when students in Turkey are being pushed into poverty, facing unemployment, and worried about their future and how to survive while dozens of demonstrations have taken place in many universities of the country over the last week, after an elevator accident in a student dormitory, which cost the life of a student.

We express our solidarity with our comrades of the Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG) and the militant students in their daily struggle in the universities for the education and life they deserve.
