Statements

On Wednesday, 14 October, during a protest by students and workers at the Complutense University of Madrid, police forces cracked down on the mobilisation and arrested five university students, including a member of the Collectives of Young Communists (CJC). Many others were injured and hospitalised.

The Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) unequivocally condemns the violent police attack against university students, including members and cadres of the Collectives of Young Communists, who are fighting for their just demands. The Spanish social-democratic government of Pedro Sánchez is implementing an anti-people and anti-educational policy, as is the case in all EU Member States. It is once again confirmed that repression is an essential complement to pushing through anti-people policies.

The struggles in France, Spain, Greece and across Europe demonstrate that the needs of the youth cannot be accommodated within the narrow confines of this system, which places the profits of the few at its centre.

Hands off the youth and students!

Hands off the members and cadres of the Collectives of Young Communists!
