51st Festival of KNE - Odigitis:The International City sends a message of strengthening proletarian internationalism and the common struggle of the peoples

Young communists from every corner of the globe will meet for yet another year under the slogan “Proletarians of all lands, unite!”. Τhey will have the opportunity to discuss, to exchange experience from the struggles they wage in their countries, to organise their common struggle. The International City of the Festival of KNE–“Odigitis” has been established as a meeting point for dozens of Communist Youth and Anti-imperialist Organisations from all over the world, highlighting the recognition of the efforts made by the KKE and KNE for the regroupment of the international communist movement.

Under conditions in which the imperialist war rages on, the competitions of the bourgeois classes are sharpening, there is an intensification of the bargaining for the redivision of the world which cannot guarantee real peace, but on the contrary fuels and enlarges the dangers of a generalization of the war that will drag the peoples into disaster, the Festival of KNE–“Odigitis” and the International City constitute a steady expression of proletarian internationalism, declaring that the peoples of the whole world have nothing to divide, that hope lies in the strengthening of their common struggle against imperialist war and capitalist exploitation.

This year’s International City will especially highlight the solidarity with the heroic Palestinian people, who are facing the barbarity committed by the murderous state of Israel with the support of the USA–NATO–EU, the famine and the massacre of infants, children, civilians, the shameful plans for the occupation of Gaza and the displacement of the Palestinians, the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, burying their right to live freely in their own homeland. A great event of solidarity with Palestine will take place in the area of the International City. Young communists from Palestine and Israel will be present, proving that the two peoples can and want to live in brotherhood, that they are struggling together so that the genocide of the Palestinian people comes to an end. For the Israeli occupation to end now, for Palestine to be recognized as an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, the visitors will have the opportunity to attend an event on the real character of the EU of war, exploitation and anticommunism, against the myth of the so-called “rule of law”, which the bourgeois staff are methodically building in order to throw dust in the eyes of the peoples of Europe, at the same time when this imperialist union is behind every crime and every injustice that crushes the peoples.

Also, an event of solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban people will take place, who are confronted with new measures of intensified aggressiveness and the criminal imperialist blockade of the USA.

In the space of the International City, the visitors of the Festival will have the opportunity to discuss with young communists from all over the world, to learn about the struggles they wage in their countries, to express their solidarity, as well as to obtain materials and “souvenirs”.
