The Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) has declared this week a “Week of Spreading Communism” among the youth, as a response to the anti-communist campaigns unfolding in the USA and the EU. We remind that the Attica Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has called on the Party members and friends in Attica to participate, to decisively support and expand this initiative of KNE with mass actions throughout the week, spreading the revolutionary communist ideas in a militant way.
In its statement addressed to the new generation, KNE notes regarding this week:
“A few days ago, Trump announced an ‘Anti-Communism Week’ in the USA, targeting the youth, 28% of whom hold a positive view of communism! What is it that Trump, the exploiters, and their governments all over the world are afraid of? They fear that the youth will learn the truth and fight for the revolutionary transformation of the world!
This whole system
is a seesaw — a board with two ends, each held up
only by the other. And those above
are there merely because the others stay below,
and only for as long as they stay below.
(…)
And there must always be many more below than above,
otherwise the balance would shift,
and the whole seesaw would tilt the other way.
B. Brecht, Saint Joan of the Stockyards
KNE addresses every young man and woman who feels indignation within today’s unjust, rotten, and corrupt system. It is a system in which a handful of parasites, the owners–shareholders of the big enterprises, appropriate the wealth produced by the many — the working people. They are the ones who hold the real power.
The richest 1% of the population possesses 45% of the wealth.
The remaining 99% of the world’s population holds 55% of the wealth.
This unjust system is capitalism.
Everything we experience that suffocates us — war, poverty, exploitation, unemployment, racism, fascism, the inequality faced by women, addictions — are its own offspring.
Education, Healthcare, Housing, Transport, Culture, Sports, free time, even interpersonal relationships and sexuality — everything is turned into a commodity.
Let us consider:
Why, in the age of Artificial Intelligence, instead of working fewer and more humane hours, are 13-hour workdays being imposed?
Why, in their system that supposedly defends “freedom,” do we live just to work for their profits, while wages are insufficient to last the month?
Why is their state incapable of protecting our schools, our homes, our very lives, yet fully capable of granting billions of euros to business groups and monopolies?
Why does their “democracy” suppress and persecute struggling students, beat school pupils who are fighting for their rights, and prosecute dockworkers who refuse to load weapons destined for the murderous state of Israel?
100% of profit will make capital ready to trample on all human laws; 300%, and there is not a crime at which it will scruple
K. Marx
At the hands of the capitalists, new technologies become tools for the harsher exploitation of the workers, suppression and manipulation of the peoples, and for waging imperialist wars to redistribute markets, instead of being utilized to meet our needs.
The genocide of the people and children of Palestine bears the signature of Israel, the USA, NATO, and the EU. The murderers are not our “allies”!
Today everything is subordinated to preparations for, with the peoples being asked to pay billions of euros for equipment and to sacrifice even their lives tomorrow.
Communist society is not a utopia! It is the society that abolishes classes, injustice, exploitation. It is the society that is founded on the basic principle “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”
The peoples of the whole world have fought great battles and managed, with the October Revolution in 1917, to pave the way for a society without exploitation: socialism-communism.
Today, the progress of science and technology makes the transition to socialism even more necessary and realistic!
Now, before it is too late!
100 years ago, the revolutionaries’ slogan was “Socialism or barbarism.”
Today, with nuclear weapons, the threat of generalization of the imperialist wars, the dilemma is “Socialism or the risk of humanity’s extinction.”
This is what the exploiters, the governments, the parties and their imperialist unions fear. That is why they slander the only real way out: socialism–communism.
In the USA, a year ago, Democrats and Republicans jointly voted for a law enforcing the teaching of anti-communism in schools.
Alongside them, the so-called “democratic” European Union ahistorically equates communism with fascism, bans Communist Parties and symbols, demolishes anti-fascist monuments, and even persecutes the teaching of Marx as “extremism”.
In our country, the government, the fascists, and the other parties slander communism and try to convince us that “there is no alternative” outside the boundaries of today’s system.
KNE calls on every young person who questions, who doubts, and who refuses to accept as “normality” today’s world of exploitation and wars, to get in touch with revolutionary theory and turn it into their own “weapon” for overturning modern barbarity. To study the works of the founders of scientific communism — Marx, Engels and Lenin — and to become familiar with the contemporary revolutionary Programme of the KKE.
To struggle in an organized way for another society — a society of real freedom and peace — for socialism–communism.
“A spectre” hovers over the rotten system of wars and injustice, haunting the worst nightmares of the capitalists.
The fiery call to struggle from the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels remains more timely and necessary than ever: “Let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains; they have a world to win. WORKERS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!”
Come with us: Get to know KNE!”
